BICTON ARENA - TEAM MOSELEY HAVE A GREAT SHOW! 31.05.16
We had a very successful show at Bicton Arena this weekend in Devon with the horses jumping lots of clears on the grass.
New horse Monsoon Monday owned by Jayne Hunt jumped a treble clear on Friday with a fast jump off to finish in 3rd place in the Foxhunter 2nd round HOYS Qualifier, just behind was my second ride also a 7 Year old Escapado S owned by Richard Hooper. He also jumped 3 fantastic rounds and both horses qualified for the Foxhunter Masters and Stoneleigh later on in the year just missing out of the HOYS Qualification.
Contour II Z owned by John Hales jumped clear every day in the 1.25m and Foxhunter classes and Berden de Kergane also owned by the Hales family jumped clear every day in the Newcomers. I was very pleased with my 8 year old Dakota who stepped up to jump her first 1.50M Area Trial for 4 faults and confidently in 1.40m classes with placings. Flavio owned by Richard Hooper jumped great to end up 5th in the Newcomers 2nd Round with an lucky fence in the 3rd round, but it was the biggest track he has jumped so was over the moon with him.
Ringo R jumped clear rounds in the Foxhunter and 1.30m classes with Dan over the show and on the last day Monsoon Monday finished off the show with a 2nd in the Talent Seekers HOYS Qualifier after jumping a very quick jump off round. Escapado S also jumped clear in the first round.

Berdenn de Kergane jumping the 5 Year old Class (Week 1)
Escapado S in action in the 7 year old Final (Week 4)
|
Berdenn de Kergane owned by John Hales finished in 5th place in the 5 Year old final in Vilamoura 2* jumping two lovely rounds. I am very pleased with the progress that Wellington has made, for a horse that has never jumped in the ring before, he has come on massively. He only had 1 fence down in 12 rounds over whole 4 week tour. He is a very exciting stallion with a lot of potential, for the future in the sport. |
Escapado S owned by Richard Hooper impressed us all whilst we where out in Vilamoura, he was placed most days over the 4 weeks, picking up 6th in the 7 Year old Grand Prix on week 3. He jumped 4 clear rounds in the 7 Year old World Racking class final. In leg one he won and in the second leg he finished in 4th place, which reached 1.45m in the last round. We haven't had him with us that long and before heading to Portugal we had only jumped at a few shows as a partnership, I'm over the moon with how he has been performing. He just loves to jump clear rounds!

I really enjoy helping progress the riders with there horses and I hope they felt that it was beneficial, as I know we had a lot of positive feed back from it.

7 Year old Gelding the most recent addiction to the team, owned by the Old Lodge Stud. Danny has quiet a layer back character and seems to come a live in the ring! I competed him at our first show together last week at Hickstead where he was clear every day in 1.25m classes and finished 2nd on the last day. I am looking forward to jumping some better tracks on him over the season ahead. |
In the last couple of weeks we have had 3 new horses join the team at Moseley Equestrian all exciting talent for the future.

RINGO MAKES IT A DOUBLE AT BICTON PARK ARENA 17.6.15
On Thursday we travelled 5 hours to Bicton Park in Devon which turned out to be a successful weekend with Becky & Ringo qualifying for Horse of the Year show on Friday in the Foxhunter 2nd Round. Some of the fences reached 1.55m in the Jump off and that would of been there biggest track to date! Ringo had a lovely treble clear to finish in 2nd place with myself and Dexter x finishing in 6th place as unfortunately we had the last fence down in the jump off, I was gutted but still very pleased for Becky and its great to see all my time training her is coming together!
Davinci T was also in the Foxhunter 2nd round and he was massively unlucky to have the last fence in round 1, I also jumped him in the 1.30m where he was 4th with a very fast time in the second phase.
Eljero had a nice round in the newcomers for a clear round his first time of grass, and Flavio (5 year old) also jumped the same class and was again double clear. Contour II z improved over the show, jumping in different arena's every day.

One day of the show I rode a horse for our owner Lisa Hales, a four year old by Arko who jumped a perfect round in the 1m.
On the Sunday of the show was the Newcomers 2nd round which again Qualifies for HOYS, Becky & Ringo R where the only combination we had in the class and again they where on form jumping a very good treble clear with a fast time in the jump off to finish in 2nd place just behind Robert Whitaker. We are over the moon with Ringo and his progress over the last couple of month, he is a very exciting horse for the future!

HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW UPDATE 8.10.14
On Wedensday & Thursday we travelled to the Horse of the Year show as Dexter X (6 Year old by Clinton) had qualified for the Newcomers final along side was KL Leona who had qualied for the Newcomers and Foxhunter Finals. Turns out that we had a very good show with Dexter jumping a double clear with a fast jump off time to finish in 3rd place.
The two horses that where placed infront of us where a bit older than him Dexter so myself and his owners Simon & Wendy Roe where very pleased as he is improving all the time. He is having a holiday now and I am very much looking forward to getting him back on form for next year. KL Leona was also in the Newcomers final where she qualified at the Scope Festival by finishing 3rd. On the evening she had an unlucky right at the end of the course which was a shame but she was competiting in the Foxhunter the next night which we travelled daily for. Again I was pleased with her as the Foxhunter on Thursday evening was quiet big and she jumped a lovely round with just having the middle part of the combination which she didnt deserve to have again Kingston Langley Stud where happy with her and she will be going on Holiday now for a month or so. |

SCOPE FESTIVAL 25.08.14
We headed to Scope festival at Stafford show ground for a couple of days jumping. Star of the show KL Leona owned by Kington Langley Stud who finished 2nd in the Newcomers Master one evening picking up yet another HOYS ticket for her, brining her total to 2 and so now I have got 4 qualifications for Horse of the Year show in October. Dexter X owned by Simon and Wendy Roe jumped a beautiful clear in the first round and sadly had a silly fence in the seconds to finish placed. Overall on the evening they both jumped super and I was very pleased with them! The next night came round to the Foxhunter Masters where again KL Leona finished in 3rd Place. It was quiet big but she took it all in her stride! So her owners where over the moon. Chevejo owned by Richard Hooper jumped a nice round in the 7 Year old championship with a clear in the first round. Winner of Picobello z also jumped the Foxhunter Masters with a clear in the first round and a unlucky fence whilst going for the clock in the second round. Despite the mud we have a good show with all the horses jumping well in there class including Alex v/d Molen and Nederland Lady.

ADDINGTON MANOR YOUNG HORSE SHOW 17.08.14
Davinci T owned by Paula Croft - Calista IV owned by Lisa Hales - Dexter X owned by Simon & Wendy Roe
Calista IV jumped really well at the show she was competing in the British section of the 5 Year old class, jumping clear every day coming joint 1st place & in the final she jumped a lovely clear round to finished 8th, Lisa and family was over the moon with her as it ended at 1.25m and she's only been jumping Newcomer class previous.
The next horse to shine at the show was Dexter X in the 6 Year old class, he jumped super! The best ever round he has done was in the final jump off on the Sunday, finishing in 4th place again that was the biggest class he's jumped to date with it ending up at 1.35m - 1.40m. Dexter also jumped clear the first day on the grass finishing joint 1st and unfortunately had the last fence down the second day.
Winner of Picobello z competed in the 7 Year old class alone with KL Leona. Winner was so close to winning the bonus, and out of all the horses competing in that class not one jumped clear ever day! He jumped clear on day 1 and day 2 coming joint 1st both days and then on Saturday in the final he had the last fence which he didn't deserve to have. It was so gutting for all the team as we was on the money to win £4,000!

WESTON LAWNS (4 DAY SHOW) 27.06.14 - 30.06.14
Myself & Becky took 11 horses to Weston Lawns for the weekend from Thursday to Monday. Thursday was a good day for us with most of the horses jumping double clear. Eljero a five year old owned by Wendy Roe jumped a double clear in the 1.05m, Becky rode her new ride Temptation Picobello Z around the 1.15m with a nice clear but not fastest enough to be place. Winner of Picobello w faults with Becky in the Foxhunter class.
Damary owned by Richard Hooper jumped the Foxhunter for a double clear round, Denver 8th owned by Paula & Frank Croft also jumped a clear in the same class. Urian H jumped his last class with me in the 1.30m for a nice clear, as he has gone back to his owner Charles Dodd, for him to compete him over the Summer.
They have been extremely pleased with his progress over the last couple of months, and we are sad to see him go as he has been a character on the yard for the last 10 months. We hope Belinda & Charles enjoy having him back home.
Davinci T also owned by Paula Croft jumped round the B&C with a clear round and KL Leona jumped the same class with the fastest time to finish in 1st place.
Nederland Lady jumped the 1.30m for an unlucky fence towards the end of the course, although I was very pleased with her as she hasn't had a fence down for a long time now. Ezarah B jumped round the Newcomers for an unlucky fence in the jump off and Calista IV jumped the same class double clear owned by the Hales Family.
On day two at the show Ezarah B jumped a double clear round in the Newcomers, Becky jumped Temptation Picobello Z in the 1.20m speed class with a fast clear. The next class was the Newcomers 2nd round where we was very unlucky with Denver, Davinci T, KL Leona & Becky on Winner of Picobello z had an unlucky fence at the last. Calista IV jumped the Newcomers with a clear round. On day three we swapped 5 horses or another 4, including Ringo who jumped his first class with Becky finishing with an unlucky fence at the first. New horse Alex van der Molen jumped a nice clear round the 1.25m, Use Me owned by Nicky & Jonathan Owen finished 4th in the 1.20m on Monday. Denver 8th ended up in the 4th place in the grade C qualifier, so Paula was extremely happy with him. KL Leona was placed in the Ladies & Gents class after jumping a clear in the first round. On the last day I jumped Winner of Picobello z in the Foxhunter 2nd round where we finished in 8th place out of 90 horses. He jumped a foot perfect round in the first with an unlucky fence in the second, I was so pleased with him as she coming on every time I ride him.

DAN QUALIFIES HORSE No.3 FOR HOYS! 12.06.14 - 15.06.14
We drove 5 and half hours to Devon mainly for the Newcomers Hoys qualifier with Davinci T & Winner of Picobello Z in which I got another horse qualified to take the hoys ticket to three! We was very pleased with the result of Winner jumping a lovely treble clear to finish 2nd to Danny Dunn. Davinci T also jumped a nice first round but having an unlucky four faults as the last! Up until the last day we haven't had a very good show with my two made to measure saddles getting stolen out of the tack lockers on Friday night. I do hope to find the person, as I can't believe that it happen! But Devoucoux have been very good and given me some more saddle to use, which I am so very grateful to the team for all there help!
Becky rode winner the first two days of the show competing in the foxhunter on day one with a double clear to finish placed and myself & Davinci T just ahead in 8th place in the same class. Dexter X jumped double clear every day in the Foxhunter, Ezarah owned by Nancy Pinchen jumped the 1.05m the first day for four faults in the jump off section. But still it was a nice round for her first time jumping on grass, she is coming on all the time! Damary jumped the same class for a double clear for Richard Hooper.
Day two Damary jumped a clear in Newcomers & on the last day a lovely double clear in the Foxhunter, he has only been based with us a short time and I am pleased with his progress over the last couple of weeks! Ringo R jumped a double clear in the same class (foxhunter) in the Sunday.

TOPSPEC VISITS MOSELEY EQUESTRIAN 13.3.14
Katy Mickle from the Topspec team came to visit us at our yard today in Lincoln, it was great meeting her as she plays a big part in Topspec Horse Feeds, as she knew all the ins & outs of using the products. We went around all the horses looking at there conditioning & asking me questions about there age, experience and what they are like as a character.
To find out a bit about them to help her explain to me what she thought they should be getting and how much, feed wise. It was a very interesting day and we all learnt a lot from her. We all look forward to Katy visiting us again in a months time to find out how we got on with the new feed.
